Subscription and support terms

Paid subscriptions

A paid subscription provides the benefits described on the subscription page at the time of purchase. These may include:

A subscription supports our journalism but does not give subscribers editorial control or guarantee coverage of a particular subject.

Price and payment

The price, billing frequency and any applicable taxes will be displayed before you confirm payment.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not ordinarily receive or store your complete card details.

Automatic renewal

Unless described as a one-off purchase, monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically using your selected payment method.

We will continue taking payment at the stated interval until you cancel.

Cancellation

You can cancel through [ACCOUNT OR SUBSCRIPTION LINK] or by emailing [email protected].

Cancellation stops future renewal payments. Unless otherwise stated or required by law, you will retain access to paid benefits until the end of the period for which you have paid.

Cooling-off rights

Consumer cancellation rights may apply to online purchases.

Where you ask us to begin providing a subscription or digital service during a statutory cooling-off period, we may ask for your express agreement to begin the service immediately and your acknowledgement of how this affects your cancellation rights.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

Refunds

Except where required by law, payments are normally non-refundable once the relevant subscription period has begun.

We may consider refund requests where:

• A payment was taken in error
• You were charged after cancelling correctly
• We materially failed to provide the purchased service
• Exceptional circumstances justify a refund

Changes to prices or benefits

We may change subscription prices or benefits.

Where a change affects an existing recurring subscription, we will provide reasonable notice before the next affected payment. If you do not wish to continue, you may cancel before the new price takes effect.

Voluntary support

One-off or recurring support payments help fund [Un]Captured’s journalism.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, these are voluntary payments rather than charitable donations and are not eligible for Gift Aid.

Supporting [Un]Captured does not purchase editorial influence, guarantee coverage or create a confidential relationship.

Recurring support can be cancelled before the next payment through Stripe.

Ending a subscription

We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary because of fraud, misuse, non-payment or a serious breach of these terms.

If we discontinue a paid service entirely, we will deal fairly with any unused prepaid period and provide a refund where appropriate.

Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Temporary interruptions may arise because of maintenance, technical failures or circumstances beyond our control.

Privacy

We process subscriber and supporter information as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Applicable consumer rights are unaffected.
